Lean angle display for motorbikes

As part of the map view, for a long time now we've display g-force indicators for acceleration and braking. We drop an icon on the map and when you click on it you get a graph of your acceleration or braking over time along with a trace on the map showing where that happened. This has been one of our most popular features, and now, if you're on a motorbike, we've got something to add to it - lean angle indicators!

Now when you reach the peak lean angle for each corner we drop a lean angle indicator on the map showing the angle reached. Clicking on that icon will bring up a graph showing your lean angle over time in the corner, along with a trace on the map showing where it happened.

We also display lean angle in the legend if you're on a bigger screen (like a laptop or desktop) that updates in real time along with the speed.

But how do we calculate the lean angle? In some cases we get lean angle from the data you upload to us, but even if you don't, we can still display it by estimating your lean angle based on a proprietary algorithm related to lateral g-force.

Just one other thing to mention is that you won't see this new feature if you have the telemetry plugin enabled (see our earlier post about plugins for details).

We hope you like the new feature and find it useful. I know I've been having a lot of fun with it, comparing where and how much me and my friends lean on different tracks!
